The 28th edition of the international short film festival will be held for the first time on the premises of the cultural center Waggonhalle.
The new festival venue creates a cozy, summer atmosphere thanks to the leafy industrial architecture of the early 20th century, which has accompanied the character of the festival since the first edition. The spaciousness of the site also ensures that a larger audience will be able to attend the events.
All film screenings as well as the supporting program will take place in different venues of the area.

All thematic blocks will be shown in the theater. These include the competition blocks for the festival categories and this year’s film blocks for the festival focuses. The discussion panels will be dedicated to one festival category each directly following the screenings.
The Film Cabinet (formerly ‘Garagenkino’) is a mini-festival within the festival. In addition to the official submissions, many films are also sent in each year for the festival’s open screen.
Here we give undiscovered talents the chance to bring their films to the screen. A space for open screenings and discussions between the audience, professional filmmakers and those who want to become one.
Rotkehlchen is the place for a time out and of course for gastronomic supply. Here you can get cold and warm drinks as well as various snacks. The filmmakers’ brunch also takes place here on Sundays.
Rotkehlchen is also the location for the legendary OpenEyes opening party as well as the aftershow party on Saturday evening.
