Nach den Präsidentschaftswahlen in Belarus im August 2020 kommt es im ganzen Land zu zahlreichen Protesten. Fast 7000 Menschen werden verhaftet. Hunderte von Opfern erzählen in Interviews von ihren Erlebnissen und enthüllen ein System der Repression, das im Berliner Regieraum rekonstruiert wird. Ein Reenactment von großer Intensität, das eine gescheiterte Transition – den Systemumbruch – in eine andere übergehen lässt.
After the presidential election in Belarus in August 2020, numerous protests erupt throughout the country. Almost 7000 people are arrested. Hundreds of victims recount their experiences in interviews, revealing a system of repression, which is reconstructed in the director’s room in Berlin. A reenactment of great intensity that allows one failed transition – the system upheaval – to pass into another.
Pavel Mozhar geboren in Minsk, lebt in und um Berlin. Er studiert an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. HANDBUCH gewann den Hamburger Kurzfilmpreis beim Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg 2022.
