Sozialer Realismus in fabelhaft detailreichen Acrylzeichnungen rotoskopiert: Vater und Sohn fristen in den Wäldern ein einfaches Leben als Schrottsammler. In ihrer Wellblechhütte ist die Legende von den Arro-Pferden noch lebendig. Die Wildheit der Tiere ist, wie die des Feuers, nicht dauerhaft zu bändigen, ein einziger Funken genügt, um sie wieder neu zu entfachen.
Social realism rotoscoped in fabulously detailed acrylic drawings: Father and son lead a simple life in the woods as scrap metal collectors. In their corrugated tin hut, the legend of the Arro horses is still alive. The wildness of the animals, like that of fire, cannot be permanently tamed; a single spark is enough to rekindle it.
Vasco Sá und David Doutel lernten sich 2002 an der Kunsthochschule in Porto kennen, wo sie ein Masterstudium für Bild und Ton absolvierten. Gemeinsam realisierten sie mehrere preisgekrönte Kurzfilme und gründeten das Animationsstudio BAP.
Vasco Sá and David Doutel met in 2002 at the School of Arts in Porto, Portugal, while attending a master’s course in sound and image. Since then, they have worked together on multiple award-winning projects and co-founded the BAP Animation Studio.
