In Südkorea treibt der Streit um Sichtbarkeit den queeren Widerstand an seine Grenzen. Der Film bietet Einblicke in das Leben von Aktivist:innen, die für Safe Spaces und gegen Gesetzeslücken kämpfen und sich gegen den Machtmissbrauch christlicher Gemeinden wehren, während sie mit wachsender Transfeindlichkeit innerhalb der LGBTQ+ Community konfrontiert sind.
In South Korea, the struggle for visibility pushes queer resistance to its limits. The film provides insights into the lives of activists who fight for safe spaces and against legal loopholes, resist the abuse of power by Christian communities, and confront increasing transphobia within the LGBTQ+ community.
Cecilia Luna Pohl und Kim Ly Lam studieren an der HAW Hamburg. Das interdisziplinäre Film-Projekt entstand als No-Budget-Film während eines Auslandssemesters in Südkorea und involvierte queere und BIPoC Studierende sowie Allies in der HAW Hamburg.
“Burning Blue” is the debut film by Cecilia Luna Pohl and Kim Ly Lam, students at HAW Hamburg. The interdisciplinary film project was created as a no-budget film during a semester abroad in South Korea and involved queer and BIPoC students as well as allies at HAW Hamburg.
